Financial Aid

The first step of the financial aid process is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at https://fafsa.ed.gov/. The FAFSA determines financial need and how much Pittsburg State University is able to award a student.

PSU’s Federal School Code is 001926.

We understand that, as a student, your focus should be on the classroom and not paperwork. The professionals in the Office of Student Financial Assistance are here to provide you with the information you need to make the right choices about financial aid and help you manage the process/steps involved.

Most graduate students are eligible for funding through the Direct Loan Program. If you qualify, a loan can be made to you. The loan must be repaid upon completion of your program or if you drop below half-time status (less than 3 hours each session). Unsubsidized Direct Loans, Graduate PLUS Loans, and Private Alternative Loans are available to eligible graduate students. Please contact our office with additional questions for these programs.
