I am the Internal Audit Academic Alliance Coordinator and the faculty advisor for the IIA Student Chapter. I take a group of students to Orlando each year to the IIA Global Student Conference. I am a certified public accountant and certified internal auditor. I've been teaching Gorilla Gateway—the orientation class for first-year students—since 2019.
In which online Pittsburg State program(s) do you teach?
What do you want students to take away from your classes? What do they learn?
I want students not only to learn more about financial statements but also to think critically and apply their knowledge to diverse situations.
What types of projects do your students do in the online courses?
Financial statement analysis of real companies.
What advice would you give to those considering your online program?
My advice would be to be prepared to work hard and learn a lot, but it is worth it!

I started teaching because I love working with students and helping them realize their full potential.
