Served as a prosecuting attorney responsible for handling cases ranging from felony drug offenses and person and non-person crimes, as well as off-grid person felonies from first appearance through jury trial, primarily focused on the prosecution of cases involving crimes against children. Engaged in private practice since 2010, primarily focused on taxation, corporate law, civil litigation, municipal law, estate planning and probate. Admitted to practice in the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. District Courts of Kansas, the Western District of Missouri, and the Federal Bankruptcy Court.

What do you want students to take away from your classes? What do they learn?
I want my students to leave my classes not just with knowledge of the law, but with the practical skills they need to succeed in the real world. My goal is for students to feel confident applying what they learn, whether in legal research or analysis.
What advice would you give to those considering your online program?
Pursuing an online MBA or MPAcc is a significant commitment, but if you are intentional about your commitment and time, the experience can help you not only gain an understanding of business topics but also obtain practical skills that will help you excel in the workplace.
What is the value of a higher degree in the field in which you teach? What are some of the skills students gain in this program?
I believe that critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are the most important skills a person can possess. These skills apply across all professions, industries, and areas of life. Pursuing an advanced degree exposes students to challenging scenarios that stretch their thinking, expand their perspectives, and strengthen these essential capacities. The professional and personal value of this growth cannot be overstated.
